When I first dreamed of this redesigned space, there were a few details that I knew I just had to have. Checkerboard floors, the vintage early 1900s farmhouse drainboard sink (which I got on Facebook Marketplace and had reglazed), and beautiful unlacquered brass hardware to last forever.
I’m a huge fan of mixing warm and cool tones and it’s a design choice I carry all throughout my home. It’s a choice that I feel creates balance and opens up so many opportunities for personality and charm, along with being able to incorporate pretty much any pieces you like!
For instance, in this space I chose a cooler toned floor, with tiles from Olympia Tile in the Memento Series in silver and white, which were 12×24 tiles that I had cut down to 12×12, and this polished chrome faucet from Kingston but then I added timeless warm toned brass hardware from Rejuvenation Canada.
No one does unlacquered brass like Rejuvenation does unlacquered brass, so for my pulls I went to their gorgeous offerings and mixed the Ball Cabinet Knobs with the Vernon Bin Pulls on the outer drawers and cabinets and the Large Oval Cupboard Latch on the centre cabinet.
Then we added the Stanton Adjustable Brass Drapery Rods in a 3/4 inch over the window and I used the 1/14 inch rod to create the extendable hanging rod over the washer and dryer by adding two holes .
With the leftover mounting brackets and extra 1 1/4 inch rod from the drying area I am creating a hanging rod inside the mudroom closet, which I’ll be sharing coming up, but I think Rejuvenation should offer just the extendable rod for this purpose, as I think it would be a hit! The weight and strength of the brass rod is incredible.
The curtains are the Sara Le Print Linen Drapery Triple Pleat with Body Memory from Two Pages. I have never owned more gorgeous curtains, and I have Two Pages in our bedroom and in our dining room. The quality is incredible, but these particular ones that arrive “trained” to hang perfectly are my fave.

The hangers shown here are absolutely incredible, thick and sturdy and the only ones I found that fit the style in the room and feel right being out in view all the time.
They are these ones from Amazon.
The beautiful metal candles are from Everlasting Candle Co. I have several of these clean burning and sustainable candles here in my home. They are so beautiful.
If you have questions on any other details I’d be happy to answer! I have more coming up on my instagram and here on the sink and paint.
Hope you enjoyed watching this project come to life! I’m not a designer so seeing that this is something that I was able to imagine and realize, with the help of Vesta Custom Design creating the cabinetry, was really wonderful!
